The reason for this letter is that I am fighting for my daughter and the other children in P.S. 255 Millennium program. This is a after school program that operates from 2:30-6pm. So far that program has been cut for the following 2012 school year. The millennium program is such a vital after school program to these children. They get help with tutoring, extra curricular activities, play sports and at the end of the year they all perform these amazing dances for the parents and all who come. Even though I am a small voice in a small auditorium that is the government, I need to fight for those kids who are too little to voice their heart felt sorrow and also the parents who cant afford to pick their sons/daughters at 3pm and would suffer economically from this cut. I implore you to take a chance to help us the parents, neighbors, and family members of these children keep this beautiful program going.
