We the people of the State of Minnesota, and their supporters, strongly oppose the breed ban that will be proposed by Rep. John Lesch, that bans Akitas, Chows, Pitbulls, Rottweilers, and wolf-hybrids. As a state representative, it is your duty to take the considerations and desires of the people and represent us to congress. We ask that you hear our voice now and do not follow through with this breed ban. It is ill researched as most breed bans are, and will not accomplish less dog bites or attacks. The wrong kind of people own the dogs that have attacked and make them mean. Those people will just find another breed and corrupt it in turn, until we have no more to choose from. We have the following signatures from people supporting this opposition. This will be sent to Rep. John Lesch at 537 State Office Bldg, 100 Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd, St. Paul, MN 55155, [email protected]

I honestly cannot believe we hit one thousand signatures already because when I started this I was just angry and typing on my phone at the kitchen table. My own dog is currently snoring at my feet and the thought of anyone targeting these breeds is just exhausting but seeing this number makes me feel like maybe we can actually push back against this.

I honestly did not think this would gain this much steam when I first typed it out in a total panic late one night. It just goes to show that people really do care about these dogs and they see how unfair this proposal is because bad owners are the real problem here.

I just saw we hit one hundred signatures and my head is spinning because when I started this I honestly thought maybe my neighbor would sign it and that would be that. It is wild seeing people from all over the place caring about these dogs and I keep reading the comments while I drink my coffee and honestly it makes me feel like we might actually get someone to listen to us.

Waste of tax money. Go do something actually useful instead of targeting dog owners.

My rottie is the sweetest dog ever, she sleeps with my kids every night. This is just ridiculous.

Stop blaming the dogs for bad owners. Fix the laws so the people responsible for the attacks are the ones getting in trouble.

Disgusting. Rep Lesch needs to realize that people love their dogs like family. Hands off.

Total BS!! My pitbull is a rescue and wouldn't hurt a fly. Leave our pets alone.
