More free unlimited parking for Lidcombe Carpark
Please help in petitioning the Auburn Council to provide more free unlimited parking areas near the Lidcombe Train Station. In the immediate future, more levels of the Lidcombe Carpark dedicated to unlimited parking would be the simplest method for the Auburn Council. The Lidcombe Train Station is a major junction station on the CityRail network. In order to catch the train at Lidcombe station, many commuters choose to park their cars near the station. There is a free public car parking lot near the train station, Lidcombe Carpark, however, there are insufficient parking spaces to accommodate the growing number of train commuters. This is particularly obvious during weekdays when all of the parking spaces in the unlimited and 6-hour parking areas have been taken before 8.30am. In desperation, cars are often parked illegally on the ramp or have risked getting a fine by parking in the 2-hour or 4-hour car parking levels. Street parking near the station is not an option as it is limited to half an hour at all times. Many people are choosing to travel by train, because of the high cost of fuel, the lack of parking where they work or because of the convenience. Whatever the reason, the increased number of train commuters is resulting in an increased number of people parking near the train station. As such, Auburn Council needs to provide more free unlimited car parking. It is in the best interest of the commuters and also in the best interest of the environment. Train commuters need somewhere to park their cars near the station, so they can remain train commuters, rather than being another car commuter contributing to Sydney’s air pollution. **You can contact the author via the email address "moreparking4lidcombecarpark@hotmail.com".**
