Petition to get a motion capture system back in the Theatre and Film Studies Department at UGA
Motion capture is an important part of animation and a desired skill by future employers. A proposal is being created that will provide funding for this system to be purchased. We, the undersigned, are concerned students who urge the University to act now and get a motion capture system back in the Theatre and Film Studies Department at UGA.

The feedback regarding the necessity of motion capture technology for professional development has been consistent and enlightening. I am currently finalizing a formal proposal to ensure the department administration understands the urgency of this requirement for our curriculum.

We'd really appreciate this. Kind of feel like we were lied to about a course being offered.
The old system has been in place since before I began my studies there in 2004! MoCap is a vital part of animation, and the lack of a proper system damages our ability to attract talented students to the Dramatic Media program.
Motion capture system would be great for our department! It would inspire more cool projects
It is ridiculous that a department that prides itself on media and technology integration with theatre doesn't have a working system
This is the missing link between the MFA acting and dramatic media programs at UGA. Please replace/upgrade our currently outdated and non-functioning motion capture system!

Learning a skill like this is a huge asset for animators and actors. Revamping the mocap studio would be a phenomenal for the fine arts department.
