We are starting a petition so that we have the freedom to listen to music in our earbuds when doing independent work in class at school. We think this is something we should have the option to do in class because it has been scientifically proven that music calms you down as well as helps you focus. Without music some kids find it harder to focus on the task because they get distracted by other kids who are not focused either.Therefore, music would be an excellent addition to the classroom.

If we were able to listen to music we would better be able to focus on our task and not our friends who are distracting us. Even though it would be difficult to communicate with friends with earbuds in, an easy solution is tapping on their shoulder and then they take out their earbuds.

We should have this, because it does help us focus and it can help tune out on others that are being disruptive

Music has always helped me to focus in class. I enjoy chatting so it is hard to finish work. I recall a time when our teacher Mr. Nobels let us listen to music. Not only did I finish my work in class on time , my work got a better grade then normal.
