The members of Teamsters local 213 under the Lafarge Ready Mix Metro Collective demand new leadership and representation with respect to our current Business Agent George Olver.
The members demand a Business Agent who will be a leader for the members and the shop stewards, communicate and build unity, be transparent, problem solve, deal with grievances timely and efficiently, bargain on behalf of the members, organize, motivate, support, encourage and help lead the stewards and active members.
The members demand: No more backroom deals, grievances dealt with promptly and swiftly, that our new representation help develop, train and support steward systems, member-to-member networks, and campaign for new contracts and track other issues so they are not forgotten. The members further demand Communication! Communication! Communication!
The new business agent will work closely with our chief steward who will attend ALL meetings with management; is part of ALL correspondence and will promote and facilitate transparency and continuity with the stewards and the members.

I have requested a formal meeting with the executive board to present the specific demands regarding our representation. We are currently compiling the documentation of outstanding grievances to demonstrate the current lack of professional oversight. Expect a report on their official response once the meeting concludes.
