The City Council formally committed to increased enforcement of noise ordinances this morning. Documentation of the new patrol strategy will be available for public review by the end of the week. We will monitor the implementation of these protocols to ensure consistent compliance.

We the undersigned citizens of Chattanooga, TN respectfully request our elected City Council officials to ensure enforcement of CODE OF ORDINANCES , CITY OF CHATTANOOGA,TN, specifically:
Chapter 24 Motor Vehicles and Traffic
Article XII.- Vehicle Equipment
Sec. 24-438. Mufflers and approved engine compression braking devices; definitions; noise test and signage.

Article III.-Noises
Sec. 25-66-The creation of any unreasonably loud, disturbing or unnecessary noise in the city or noise of such kind, intensity or duration as to be detrimental to the life or health of any individual or disturb the public peace or welfare of the city shall be unlawful.
Sec. 25-67. - Definitions and noise measurement procedures.
Sec. 25-68-(7):Exhausts without mufflers. The discharge into the open air of the exhaust of any steam engine, stationary internal combustion engine or boat engine except through a muffler or other device which will effectively prevent loud or explosive noises therefrom.

We need to hit the one hundred signature threshold before I submit our formal request for a meeting with the City Council. Please send the link to residents who are directly impacted by these noise violations so we can strengthen our position.

My mom is 88 years old with dementia and a plethora of other ailments. I finally get her to sleep and those bikes go racing down Dayton Blvd and wake her into a terrified and confused old woman. Takes forever to get her back to sleep.
I'd also like to add the noise coming from bass from within a person's car is out of control in nooga as well. There are numerous studies that have linked noise pollution to increased anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke.
This has gotten progressively worse throughout the past year. It is a combination of sports cars, monster pickups, sport and Harley motorcycles, and now even little sub-compact cars that are modified to sound extra loud. It is destroying the quality of life in the downtown area.
These noises are scary and startling for young children who are on their own property or walking on the sidewalk. Loud noises are a health hazard. They can trigger our veterans and others who serve our country
My children cover their ears during our walk to school each morning as some vehicles pass by, one in particular that we encounter each day is ridiculously loud. This petition is a great idea, and we can hope the powers-that-be will listen.
SWe behave a noise problem in Lookouy Valley too! I called CPD a couple of months ago and the motorcycle racing down Adkins between 10:30 PM and 1:30 AM during warm nights and when it wasn’t raining quieted down, but it has started up gain! Need police to come out here and monitor at night to ticket rider.
Frazier Ave sounds like a race track for n the weekend

The noise level is high, not just racing - but sitting in the park and on frazier, in gas station, or wherever just reviving their engines to a high pitched whine. It is insane. Good luck having a conversation on a restaurant patio or your own patio.
