The NJ Devil’s mascot’s name is simply “NJ Devil.” That’s awful. Going all out and picking Satan as your mascot is pretty audacious. After all, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays had to change their name to quell the Florida fundamentalists, but New Jersey sticks with Lucifer (everyone else in America hates this state, so why not, I guess). But the Devils’ mascot needs-no, deserves-a decent name. Why not Mephistopheles Soprano, or The Prince of Slow Commutes? Or both. Come at us Gritty. Let’s join together to tell the NJ Devils owners that the mascot needs a new name.
