Have you ever heard the saying “boys go to college to get more knowledge girls go to Jupiter to get more stupider.” I feel like that is just a metaphor for what is happening today, because more than half of the girls in the world don’t even get a primary education.

Did you know 36 million girls around the world don’t have the right to education? There are many reasons why this is unacceptable, first of all, because these girls could have so much potential if they were sent to school. In 1985 to 1994 87.7% of boys got an education and only 78.6% of girls did. There is evidence to support the saying “If you educate a boy you educate one person,if you educate a girl you educate a household.”This means that a girl can educate her children, and they can educate their own.Furthermore studies demonstrate that girls learn faster than boys. Therefore it can be easier to educate them because they mature faster and girls brains can develop almost 10 years faster than boys.

Moreover, when girls are not educated they are used to do basic tasks which don’t require formal skills. The type of tasks these girls do are clean dishes, make food, clean houses, often they are examples of child labor. Some tasks are harder than others but all unfair. These females earn 365 AED a year only enough to provide for her basic needs. Girls are capable of much more and should be allowed equal opportunities to reach their potential.

I hope we provided you with enough information so that you know that it is unfair that girls around the world get treated unequally by not getting education. These girls could be the next person to find another way to cure
Cancer. These girls are capable than much more than we think but not if we don't do something about it. My goal is to get 50 signatures so if you support this petition please sign. Your signature matters!
