Greetings Saint Andrew's families! You all know by now that there has been a decision to implement uniforms in the 2023-24 school year. Repeated requests to the Administration, Parents Club and Board of Directors for a public forum on the matter were declined. We understand that it is not practical for the administration to call for a vote on each decision, but one with such unilateral impact should have had greater consultation and transparency. This is not only about uniforms but the fact that families - who invest a lot of time, money, and most importantly the care of our children - were not allowed to weigh in on the matter. Here is your chance to do so.

The administration thought they could bury this decision in silence but this momentum proves they cannot ignore us forever. They refused to give us a seat at the table so we are taking the entire room. Keep the pressure on these leaders until they finally stop hiding behind their desks and face the families they alienated.

I am very disappointed that the school administration chose to unilaterally impose mandatory uniforms without significant parental input. The church and school community expects more inclusion in major changes in the school program.
When I came to Saint Andrew's, individuality was important to me for my child. I was not even aware uniforms were being considered when I decided to keep my children at Saint Andrew's for next year. The timing and lack of information until now seem intentional and unfair.
I fervently disagree with the decision to implement uniforms at St. Andrew's. I don't want the additional expense of uniforms on top of clothes that I have to buy anyway, and I don't agree with how the decision was made or the reasoning behind it. Keep St. Andrew's uniform-free!
"I prefer my freedom and my own style. I do not want to be forced to conform with uniforms. You said parents wanted this, but I don't know any families that want this. My whole class says that they do NOT want uniforms and I have not heard of any other students who say that they or their parents want uniforms. My friends say one of the reasons they like St. Andrew's is because of no uniforms. I don't think you should take away that advantage and turn it into a disadvantage. By making this decision, you are making people reconsider St. Andrew's in favor of schools with no uniforms. There are plenty of schools with uniforms that people who want uniforms can go to. Obviously, there are many advantages and great things about St. Andrew's, so please don't take away one.
One thing I love about St. Andrew’s is how inclusive it is, these uniforms will make the school seem less so. Additionally, this is an added expense. I have not seen the cost or choice of uniforms yet but my children’s outfits normally cost $10, not $50. If this does go into affect, please consider having loaner uniforms on hand for the younger kids (prek3-kindergarten) instead of having the parents provide uniform backups that will sit at the school at $50 a pop.
Not having uniforms is one of the reasons why we chose St. Andrew’s.
Requiring parents to spend hundreds of dollars per year on uniforms is absurd. Also opposed to the gendering of the uniforms.

The last school in the city to embrace an outward display of uniqueness. This is especially important for parents of 3 and 4 year olds who fight us parents tooth and nails on going to school unless the can wear their favorite princess costume or paw patrol shirt. In my opinion, at the very least, the uniform concept should have been widely discussed with the parents to see what we think before rolling it out.
