The noise pollution from bars and nightclubs in some residential areas of Lusaka has become intolerable. In particular, the bars situated in Kabwata, next to Cheers Supermarket are responsible for many sleepless nights of residents in the area. On weekends, they start blasting music from the afternoon till the early hours of the morning. The music does not stop on weekdays as well. Our children cannot sleep and adults are also having great difficulty getting a good nights sleep!

We the undersigned would like to petition the council and the Environmental Council of Zambia (ECZ) to take action against these noise polluters by regulating and enforcing strict opening and closing times for these bars and nightclubs and also enforcing a limit on the volume of music they are allowed to play.

Please help us bring some sanity and peace to our lives.
