On behalf of the Myakkahatchee Area Mountain Bike Association (MAMBA) please help us in asking the city of North Port to officially designate the existing unimproved trails in the planning of the Myakkahatchee Creek Greenway Park. These trails allow cross country mountain bikers and hikers to experience some of the area’s pristine natural settings. These activities are passive and low impact to the environment. These trails have been in existence for more than 15 years and have been voluntarily maintained by local mountain bikers at no cost to the city or tax payers. Officially designating these trails would allow North Port residents and visitors alike a way to preserve and enjoy this beautiful piece of “Natural Florida”.
