As a citizen of the state of Missouri, I would like to register my disappointment with the Missouri General Assembly for ignoring the will of its constituents on the legalization of the carrying of concealed weapons in our state. In addition, the legislature established a law which allows virtually limitless access to weapons and concealed weapons. The law enacted has no enforcement mechanism other than a small fine for what are potentially deadly violations. Because of this action, we do not sleep safe at night and do not send our children to school with confidence they will return safely.
Through this action, the legislature has chosen the path of violence and teaches our children that conflict can only be solved with force and not words because of this legislation we take one step closer to a world of violence.
As a voting and contributing member to our state community, I wish to register my lack of confidence in any legislature that ignores the will of the people for the will of a special interest group.
We, the undersigned, ask that steps be taken immediately to undo and correct this injustice.
I have been reviewing the comments left on this page and the depth of concern expressed by residents across Missouri remains profound. This feedback affirms that our collective desire for legislative accountability is shared by many who feel their safety has been neglected. I am currently coordinating with advocates to identify the most effective channels for presenting these concerns directly to the members of the General Assembly.

This is honestly terrifying. Why are they prioritizing lobbyists over our families? We need to be able to feel safe in our own neighborhoods again.

Ridiculous. A small fine for breaking laws that put everyone in danger? What a joke.
