Oak Parke is potentially being rezoned by AISD from Baranoff Elementary School to Kocurek Elementary. This is not an equitable move for our neighborhood, and is not a safe one. While we are first and foremost fighting for no change at all, we are asking for a rezone to the new SW Elementary School in Avaña if we are rezoned at all. The committee wants to know how many of our neighbors support this. Our proposal will also save the school district money because they can choose a Kiker rezone map that removes 2 buses from use, as opposed to the current plan proposed which will add two buses to the area.
We all prefer no change and to stay at Baranoff, but please sign the petition if you live in Oak Parke and support a rezone to the New SW Elementary School as opposed to Kocurek.

It is wrong to rezone a neighborhood to different schools. They choose their property based on the school zone. When you force them to a school with lesser quality, you need to lower their taxes. If you won't keep them at Baranoff, then assign them to the New SW Elementary School.
10204 Salida Dr with 2 school aged children and a 3rd who will be in Kinder in 2 years. We moved to this neighborhood from out of state specifically for the schools. Either keep us at Baranoff or move us to the new school in Avana. Kocurek will force me to put my children at a private or charter school.
10301 Trout Cove - since we've already been revived from Kiker elementary to Baranoff Ekenentary, my preference would be to keep us at Baranoff; however if that is not possible then we'd prefer to be rezined to the new SW elementary school.
We would prefer to not leave Baranoff which our neighborhood helped start. However, if do have to move we should go to to the new Southwest Elementary - this would also reduce the number of other children having to change schools.
I live on Leadville Dr. and am the father of a 4 year old entering elementary school in 2020 and strongly support moving to the new SW school over Kocurek. I believe the new SW school will have a positive impact on our community vs a negative impact of moving to Kocurek.

My family resides in Oak Parke. Please either keep our children at Baranoff or at the new SW Elementary School. There are many reasons why this request is reasonable, but I want to emphasize the importance of our children remaining in schools that track to Bowie.
