Dear Mrs. Elliott,
We are a small, traditional, family oriented business which has been serving our community for more than 10 years. Since March 23, 2020 we are closed due to COVID-19. When Stage 3 reopening took place we were ordered to remain closed because of high-risk nature of our saunas.
We think that is not fair. We implemented all the necessary requirements to prevent the spread of disease according to current regulations, we set reduced maximum capacity in each room in our facility (including saunas) for social distancing. Nevertheless we are not allowed to operate saunas.
Sauna sessions are the main line of our business. We cannot offer other services without saunas. Saunas are not high-risk. According to scientific studies they are actually helpful to prevent the virus spread because no virus or bacteria could survive high temperature of 80-90 degree Celsius.
Our business is very health beneficial. Locals and people from all over GTA come to Steamul Sauna to relax, relieve stress, detox, normalize blood pressure, improve immune system, lose weight and get a quality massage. Our customers feel healthier and happier when they use our services on regular basis.
We employ 7 people and contribute a lot to local economy. Staying closed for unspecified period of time and paying expenses can push us to bankruptcy.
We ask you to let us reopen and operate saunas as soon as possible! Health and well-being of hundreds of Ontarians depend on us!

I have been visiting this sauna for over 5 years. great service, friendly and very positive atmosphere, but most importantly, the health benefits that can only be obtained here. please do not deprive us of this opportunity, especially at this difficult time. I and my family are looking forward to the opening of the sauna.
Please reopen this facility. The hot temperatures of the saunas are health promoting and the virus can not live in the high temps. Gyms are open, this facility should be as well. It is well cared for and cleaned by it’s owners and they would follow the same stringent protocols as other businesses.
Saunas are a part of russian, Ukrainian and Scandinavian heritage. They are apart of family tradition for many. These establishments should be allowed ot reopened with appropriate safety measures in place . This is an integral part of our community.
According to the numerous independent studies, using saunas improve immune system which directly reduces possibility of the body to contract viruses and illnesses. Such facilities should actually be promoted and not kept closed!
It's perplexing that saunas like Steamul are not allowed to reopen with safety precautions in place while businesses where insuring safety is significantly harder are allowed to operate.
I strongly support this petition because my body can develop endurance through studying itself!
Sauna is an integral part of healthy living - both for mental and physical health. They need to be opened.

With all respect for support on fighting covid 19, our government should consider expert opinion on making decisions for essential and non essential business. For many users, sauna is life line, just like medicine for very sick patient. As user of Steamul Sauna I consider place to be safe and sound.
