To whom it may concern,

We, the undersigned, support the actions of One World Conservation regarding their campaign, Operation Orion, which calls for the confiscation of the Bengal tiger, Orion (aka Baji), from the facility, Claws 'n' Paws Wild Animal Park Inc., to be relocated to In-Sync Exotics in Wylie, Texas. We support them for the following reasons:

  • History of inadequate veterinary care
  • Failure to provide safe and adequate conditions for animals
  • The USDA has heavily cited the facility for multiple violations, some of which put both animals and the public at risk
  • Proper quarantine procedures were not followed
  • Orion will be exposed to extreme temperatures in the winter months
  • Improper containment
  • Failure to meet the needs of the species 

Given heavy citations, numerous animal deaths, documented substandard conditions for the animals, and exploitation of Orion, One World Conservation is calling for the confiscation of Orion and that the USDA review its history with Claws 'n' Paws and revoke their exhibitor's license until such a time that they can update their facility. This is critical for the future of the facility and its animals.

We, the undersigned, understand the seriousness of our request, and assure Mr. Tom Vilsack, the Secretary of Agriculture, that it is not made lightly and do so with all due respect. We ask that the USDA and its inspectors take our position seriously and take action by the confiscation of Orion and the removal of Claws 'n' Paws's exhibitors license.
