Tell Oshawa Council NO! Closing arenas is not acceptable
Have your voice heard. Tell Oshawa City Council, No! Closing arenas is NOT acceptable. City council has buried in the proposed budget, closing of three (3) City ice pads (Harman Park - 2 pads and Children\'s Arena). Closing these arenas means more than just saving money. Closing these arenas means there will be nothing in the south end of the city for our children. Council is proposing these closures in addition to adding newly proposed \"user fees\" on top of the $25.00/hour surcharge we have been paying for the last 3 years. N.A.S.C. Hockey will be the single user group most affected by this closure as over 85% of the program ice is located at Harman Park arena. In return, ALL groups will be affected. We fought for years for new arenas, if city council votes in favour of closing them, ALL user groups will be worse off than we were with the arena shortages and closings just a few short years ago! Please join N.A.S.C. Hockey and show your support of ALL ice users in the city of Oshawa by clearly telling council that this is NOT acceptable.
