As of September 15, 2008 Prosper.com has made the decision to restrict Residents of Pennsylvania from lending on Prosper. They have discontinued accepting new lender registrations, and new bids from existing Pennsylvania lenders. Their decision to make this change was based on their "ongoing discussions with regulators in Pennsylvania, a change necessary to comply with PA Regulators current interpretation of their state regulations." Pennsylvanians for Prosper Lending has been established to raise a voice against this denial of opportunity, and freedom. At this point in time it is imperative that the voice of Lenders in Pennsylvania and beyond begin to solidify. This petition is a great way to do that. Let's use our collective voice to bring attention to this matter.
