We are requesting that the state of Pennsylvania enact a law to provide appropriate education, prevention, and outreach programs to inform immigrants of the health risks and emotional trauma involved in the process of female genital mutilation. This process, despite being illegal, is regularly practiced in the United States or practiced on United States citizens in foreign countries. FGM is associated with a lifetime of psychological stress and trauma, and can often cause complications with urination, menstruation, and giving birth. Please help stop this harmful process by signing the petition.
