Changes to Parking Restrictions on Kingsley Way, NW11 (London)

Barnet Council proposes to remove the current unrestricted parking outside the shops on Kingsley Way and make part of the area no parking at any time and the rest of the area no parking between 07:00 - 09:30 and 16:00 - 18:30.

This will affect visitors and trade to the shops and businesses in the area. It will also affect parents who park and wait for their children coming off the school buses.

Please lend your support to opposing these changes.

Thank you.

The momentum is incredible. This is exactly what we need to get the council to finally listen.

The proposals to restrict parking in Kingsley Way The Market Place will have no benefit to traffic flow as there is on;y parking on one side of the road leaving space for all cars. The downside to the changes will be a loss of trade and my elderly patients will have difficulty visiting me.

I have noted cars parked on the opposite side of the road to the shops, on Kingsley Way, at around 6pm. There is a yellow line with parking restricted from 8am to 6.30pm. These cars are certainly blocking the free flow of traffic. The problem is not caused by the few cars that are parked legitimately

This will really affect the shops. If I have a lot to buy, I have to drive down as cannot carry the shopping up the road. People picking children up use the shops while waiting. If the council wants extra revenue, why do they not restrict parking between 12 - 1pm.

These shops offer rare facilities in area and parking restrictions would greatly inconvenience elderly and immobile shoppers such as myself.

Something needs to be done about the parking but this is the wrong solution. The side of the road OPPOSITE the shops, which is currently a single yellow line, should be made a double yellow line - most of the problems come when people are parked there!

This will only force people into using the private car parking which businesses and residents pay for at 2 Lyttleton Road. The council are looking for extra ways to give people tickets and make money as usual. Ridiculous waste of council tax money.

Taking away the parking spaces near the shops will affect them and their customers badly. Without these shops there, it will be bad for local community. It's not the parking bays that cause the traffic bottlenecks.

when I shop at the local shops there I need the parking to take home the shopping
