The point: please do not take offence to this as it is only to show the need and not stress any issue for the university. we love being there but i can even make a research proposal of how bad it is affecting us with citations and peer-reviews and etc.

Yes, the privilege of using pass or fail has been given twice now. Yes, it should be given again. It was initially given due to the circumstances of the pandemic and since the pandemic hasn't stopped and we aren't on campus, this opportunity shouldn't be taken away from us.

Yes, we are aware that some students in previous semesters took advantage of the attendance marks and did not try at all. That was a bad idea, but that does not change the fact that we still need one. Perhaps the option should be given for only C and below grades. We need that option back because the pandemic hasn't left but our willingness to try has. We know the university is trying to do their best when it comes to helping us but that option helped us more than anything would.

Some students are so demotivated, they do not even want to try because they 'know' they will get bad marks or fail. In real time all of us wouldn't need the option as much, and that much is obvious. But now we do, because the situation not only asks for it but begs for it. Maybe we can re-evaluate the way the option is given and not whether it should be given at all or not.
