This petition is to gather signatures from students who are not in agreement with the added stress of enrolling in the 3rd semester at the University of the Southern Caribbean to complete a class that should have ended on April 23rd due to poor excuses and lack of communication from the lecturer and university. The intention is to forward this to the provost for some sort of resolution or to a journalist and the ACTT. Students find it fair and see it fit that we be given grade A’s as we would not have missed much and completed the requirements for the course thus far. We refuse to be burdened with this school’s constant unprofessional and unethical behaviour at such a last minute and will not take it lightly. We demand to be treated fairly and urge the university to be transparent and honest in doing so as we will tolerate nothing less anymore. The remaining material can be emailed to us for review and future reference. This is to bring light to the unjust that goes on in USC every semester with no resolve or regard for students. We will be silent no more and we demand positive change.

Updates

April 20, 2020

The rapid growth of this petition confirms that the frustration regarding the current academic schedule is widespread across the student body. This momentum provides a significant foundation as we prepare to present our concerns to the provost and external oversight bodies.

USC is the worst. Students have to do a sm2 course in sm3 because the lecturer abandoned them but another lecturer was asked to put in a grade and attendance for a student who never attended their class or did their work??? How unethical, fraudulent and low this institution is for a so called religious institution! And when students stand up for their righteous and publicly highlight the ills, they are attacked and victimized. How long will students continue to endure these injustices: lecturer abandoning course, sexual harassment, doing the wrong exam, financial fraud ALL on the part of USC who like to hide and cover up ???

Utter nonsense! Do they know if students have the time, energy, resources etc. to continue a sm 2 course in sm 3? When is for them to accommodate their little friends they will gladly hide and do so. There must be equity across the board. If students had said they cant continue a course because of online challenges they would fail the course depending on where they are at in the semester. Since it is a dont care lecturer fault why punish the students. USC has once again shown they do not care about the masses.

It is about time people stand up to this unethical and fraudulent institution. The students are left abandoned by a lecturer who claims to have technical difficulties but does ask the institution to assist so he can serve his students for which he receives a SALARY. The institution refuses to help in a way that benefits the innocent students in this situation. But they would have helped their friends though.

The University of the Southern Caribbean continues to show blatant disregard to people. How long will they continue harming people through their actions: semester 2 course in semster 3, switching exams with no explanation forcing students to spend time and resources to resit, gate issues, wrong advisement the list goes on and on. Eventually they will be held accountable. It is just a matter of time!

USC needs to understand that this is placing students under additional mental burden through no fault of theirs.

USC needs to understand the level of stress many students experience on a daily basis when it comes to completing so many projects at school
