PETITION AGAINST THE DISMISSAL OF MIDWIVES CISSY YVONNE NAMWANGA AND NANGONZI JAZIRA FROM C-Care IHK

To: The General Manager, C-Care IHK
From: Clients of C-Care IHK

We, the undersigned clients of C-Care IHK, wish to bring to your attention a matter of great concern and submit the following petition for your consideration and action:

On 25th November 2024, we were deeply saddened to learn of the indefinite dismissal of two dedicated midwives, Ms. Cissy Yvonne Namwanga and Ms. Nangonzi Jazira. It has come to our attention that their dismissal is linked to the outcomes of a tree-planting exercise scheduled for October 2024. While we acknowledge that the desired turnout of mothers may not have been achieved during this activity, it is important to note that the midwives fulfilled their duty by inviting mothers to participate. However, participation in such activities ultimately lies at the discretion of the mothers themselves.

Dedication and Contributions:
Ms. Namwanga, who has served C-Care IHK since 1st March 2023, and Ms. Nangonzi, who has been part of the institution since 8th June 2015, have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their work. Their unwavering commitment and support to the mothers at the C-Care Mother Center have made C-Care a preferred choice for many of us. Specifically, they have been instrumental in:

• Coordinating weekly antenatal classes, both online and physical.
• Ensuring the well-being and satisfaction of mothers accessing services at C-Care IHK.
• Contributing significantly to the smooth operations of the Mother Center.

Concerns Over Fairness:
We strongly believe that the dismissal of these midwives was not conducted in a fair and transparent manner. Article 42 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda (1995) guarantees every individual the right to fair and just treatment in administrative decisions. As clients who have directly benefited from their exceptional service, we are compelled to demand justice in this matter.

Our Demands:

1. That Ms. Cissy Namwanga and Ms. Nangonzi Jazira be granted a fair hearing immediately.
2. That mothers who have interacted with the midwives be called as witnesses to provide testimonies regarding their conduct and contributions.
3. That the midwives be reinstated to their duties no later than Friday, 6th December 2024.

Consequences of Non-Compliance:
Should these demands not be met, we, the clients of C-Care IHK, will be left with no choice but to take the following actions:

• Boycott services at C-Care IHK and seek alternative providers.
• Escalate this matter to the public domain through print and other media.
• Pursue legal action to ensure justice and accountability.

We trust that you will treat this matter with the urgency and seriousness it deserves and take appropriate steps to ensure a fair resolution.

Sincerely
