We are writing to you as concerned parents of students at Kings School, located in Al Barsha, Dubai. As residents of Dubai Hills Estate, which is adjacent to the school, we would like to draw your attention to an issue that is negatively impacting our community and request your support in finding a solution.

Dubai Hills Estate is a vibrant and growing residential community, home to many families with school-going children. The proximity of Kings School to our community makes it an ideal choice for many parents. However, due to the restrictions imposed by Dubai Hills Estate, vehicle access to the school from within the community has not been permitted. This has resulted in increased traffic congestion during peak hours, as parents are forced to drop off and pick up their children from outside the community.

We strongly believe that allowing pedestrian and cycling access to Kings School from within Dubai Hills Estate will significantly alleviate the traffic congestion in the area. By granting us the privilege of walking or cycling our children to school from within the community, parents will be encouraged to choose other options instead of relying on vehicular transportation. This, in turn, will reduce the number of vehicles on the surrounding roads, leading to improved traffic flow and a safer environment for all residents.

We kindly request the Dubai Hills Estate Management, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), and other relevant authorities and entities to consider our petition and take the necessary steps to allow pedestrian access to Kings School from within Dubai Hills Estate. We understand that there may be concerns regarding security, safety, and infrastructure, but we firmly believe that with proper planning and coordination, these challenges can be overcome.

We propose the following solutions to address the concerns:

1. Construction of dedicated pedestrian and cycling pathways connecting Dubai Hills Estate to Kings School, ensuring the safety of students and pedestrians.

2. Installation of appropriate safety measures, such as traffic calming measures, speed bumps, and designated crossing points, to ensure the safety of pedestrians and cyclists along the proposed routes.

3. Coordination between Dubai Hills Estate Management, Kings School, and the RTA to develop a comprehensive plan for managing pedestrian and cyclist traffic during peak hours.

4. Increased communication and awareness campaigns to educate parents about the benefits of walking or cycling their children to school and the importance of reducing vehicular traffic in the community.

In addition to cycling access, we kindly request the consideration of constructing a dedicated bicycle parking facility at Kings School. Providing secure and convenient bicycle parking will encourage more parents and students to choose cycling as their preferred mode of transportation. This will not only support our goal of reducing traffic congestion but also foster a culture of sustainability and active living within Dubai Hills Estate. By implementing these measures, we strongly believe that we can foster a sense of community and promote a healthier lifestyle for our children. Moreover, it will contribute to the overall sustainability and livability of Dubai Hills Estate.
