I am writing to you on behalf of the concerned residents and frequent visitors of Winter Street Park (25 Winter Street Edison NJ 08820) We would like to bring your attention to the deteriorating condition of the park and request immediate renovation and maintenance to ensure the safety and enjoyment of the community. With this letter, I have attached the pictures taken from the park.

Winter Street Park has long been a cherished recreational space for residents of all ages, particularly families with young children. However, it has unfortunately fallen into disrepair, with no evident maintenance efforts in recent times. The current state of the park not only poses risks to the safety of visitors but also diminishes the overall quality of life in our community.

The following issues urgently need to be addressed:

1. Neglected Maintenance: The park suffers from a lack of regular maintenance and upkeep. The grounds are often unkempt, with litter strewn about and overgrown vegetation. We kindly request a comprehensive cleaning and maintenance plan to restore the park's beauty and create a welcoming environment. Photos are attached.

1. Playing Courts - The existing court platform, which currently resembles a black top, requires repairs, repainting, and revitalization to become functional. We propose the creation of tennis, basketball, and badminton courts in this area as a recommendation. Attached. Photos are attached.

1. Tripping Hazards: The presence of numerous tripping hazards throughout the park poses a significant danger to visitors, especially children. Uneven pathways, broken equipment, and protruding objects need immediate attention to prevent accidents and injuries. Photos are attached.

1. No Lighting: The absence of lighting in Winter Place Park is a major concern, particularly during the darker winter months. Many community members are unable to utilize the park in the evenings due to safety concerns. We urge you to install sufficient lighting fixtures to enhance visibility and security.

1. Flooding Issues: During inclement weather, the park's court area is prone to flooding, resulting in stagnant water that remains for days. This not only renders the space unusable but also creates a breeding ground for pests and mosquitoes. We request a comprehensive drainage system to be installed to address this persistent issue.

1. Addition of new picnic benches.

The renovation and improvement of Winter Place Park will have numerous benefits for our community. It will provide a safe and well-maintained space for families and individuals to engage in recreational activities, fostering a sense of community and promoting healthy lifestyles. Additionally, a renovated park will enhance the overall aesthetics of our neighborhood and potentially attract more visitors, positively impacting local businesses.

We, the undersigned, strongly urge you to take immediate action to renovate Winter Place Park and address the concerns outlined above. We kindly request a meeting to discuss this matter further and explore possible funding opportunities or community involvement initiatives to expedite the renovation process.
