The Commencement Ceremony is the pinnacle of a student's academic career and meant to be shared with family, friends, and loved ones. This ceremony is arguably most important for graduate students given the delicate balance between professional career, academic career, and personal lives. To limit the number of guests per student to only 2 at the Rialto Center for the Arts for this special moment, we the graduate students and family members feel is unacceptable.
The RCB Graduate Commencement Ceremony has the lowest guest limit among other graduate programs with commencement ceremonies this spring. Other graduate programs range from 5 guests to 15 guests. While understandable that many external venues were unable to accommodate the ceremony and RCB resorted to Rialto (and guest limit smaller as a result), RCB should explore every possible option. Proposed venues include GSU Sports Arena and Student Center Ballroom. The College of Law and the majority of other graduate programs have arranged these venues as a contingent plan to the closure of the Dome.
We kindly ask for reconsideration for the change of venue and appropiate number of guests for this once in a lifetime ceremony.

I have spent this week in direct communication with the administration regarding alternative venue capacities. Your collective feedback confirms that the current guest limitation presents a significant hardship for our families. Further updates will follow as soon as the college provides a formal response to our request for reconsideration.

Two tickets are just too few. This is unacceptable. At a minimum, I have two kids and a husband who have made so much sacrifice so I could go get an MBA. Do I flip a coin to decide who gets to attend my celebration?
I have 6 people in my immediate family that I would like to be able to attend without having to pick and choose who to invite...
Two tickets are too few. Find other options.
With only 2 guest tickets, I will have to choose between my wife, mom and dad.
For all the tuition dollars we deserve this
I have people coming from out of town to see me make this big step in my life.

I'm from out of state, and my family plans on coming down to see me graduate. I would expect everyone who comes to town to see me graduate to ACTUALLY SEE me graduate.
