This online petition was created by Nicholas Lashbrook as a means of creating real change in the NBA. The current NBA rule known as the "One and done rule" states for a player to enter the NBA draft, “[T]he player (A) is or will be at least 19 years of age during the calendar in which the Draft is held, and (B) with respect to a player who is not an international player. . . , at least one NBA season has elapsed since the player’s graduation from high school (or, if the player did not graduate from high school, since the graduation of the class with which the player would have graduated had he graduated from high school)." Essentially the rule is holding young athletes back from attaining there dreams and often is hindering their path to the NBA by making them play one year in college. Lashbrook wrote a research paper further explaining why this rule is hampering athletes careers. The paper can be found here (copy and paste link to browser):
