The Town Board finally surrendered and approved the lights for our fields. They forced us to fight for something as basic as safety for our kids but we won this battle. Keep watching them to ensure the installation happens without any more pathetic excuses.
The Town of Wallkill Little League is exploring the possibility of installing lights on our fields. Youth baseball and softball provide a supportive environment, surrounded by teammates, coaches, and volunteers, where all differences can be put aside and a team can help one another grow both as athletes and as individuals. Our league is driven by the help of volunteers, most of whom have full-time jobs, meaning our games do not begin until 5:30pm. During most of our season, early sunsets cut games short. Often, we cannot complete games due to darkness. As it is, we are continuously concerned about the safety of our players as we try to complete an inning with impending darkness. Lights will not only allow games tobe completed in a safe environment but will also provide more use of the Town parks system
We, the undersigned, support the effort to provide lighting for the Town of Wallkill Little League Fields
The Town Board can no longer ignore this wall of noise we have built together. Kids should be finishing their games instead of scrambling to beat the sunset while local officials drag their feet on basic safety upgrades.

Fields need lights for many reasons the biggest one is safety. It will also help if completing games and having many more events at the park. As a kid I used to love playing at night under the lights. As an umpire I can see how much the kids love it the first time they set on a lit up field. Please help install the lights.

This league will benefit greatly with the addition of lights. We have the nicest fields in this area but are held back from hosting some games because e don't have lights. Please consider this petition.

This would allow our kids to be able to play more games on their home field and help ensure safety for the park users as well. Long over due.

This will make a great difference for the kids ball games. It will allow for a visually safer season with early evening games.

If you ask any ball player, Night games have a different attitude and environment than day games. Something about them just brings the team together and it creates a positive additude in almost every night game I’ve played in. I think getting lights will help create the kind of community and game experience Town of Wallkill Little League wants

We live very close to the park with one kid in TOWLL already with another soon to be. Lights are a necessity these days to ensure kids can play safely and competitively!
