Dr. Bartlow is coming back to campus. Seeing her lose her position was heartbreaking for all of us and I am relieved that we finally reached this outcome. Thank you for staying with me through this fight to keep her exactly where she belongs.

Yesterday (Tuesday, May 19, 2015) at 5pm, Dr. Susannah Bartlow was fired. Below, I am including the petition circulating to help reinstate her.

President Lovell,
Dr. Susannah Bartlow, Director of the GSRC and instructor, is an invaluable asset to Marquette's community. She has fostered many students in academic pursuits and impacted our personal lives through her presence on campus. Her commitment to promoting diversity and acceptance is unparalleled. Dr. Bartlow's relief from her position at this university greatly hinders the Marquette student body and the institution as a whole.

NOTE: This petition concerns ONLY the firing of Dr. Susannah Bartlow. For reasons that are clear, we not making a statement about the mural or the woman it features. This petition is for Dr. Bartlow, whose presence at Marquette is greatly needed.

we cannot let McAdams be our moral barometer. The firing of Dr Bartlow undermines academic freedom, the involvement of faculty and students in the shape of the university, AND the agreement made between administration and the board of the gender and Sexuality Resource Center.

Susannah has a brilliant mind and is probably the most passionate person I know when it comes to matters of promoting education about LGBT rights, race, and feminism. This firing is a major over-reaction on the part of the university.

While working at UW-Milwaukee, I was very impressed with all of the work that Dr. Susannah Bartlow did at Marquette. As a graduate of Notre Dame, I think it is incredibly important for Catholic universities to support centers like the GSRC and the invaluable work they do.

As an member of Marquette's diverse communities, the summary firing of Dr. Susannah Bartlow, without the consultation of any impacted communities, is of significant concern in regards to the dialogue on this campus.

As an alum, hearing of the firing of Dr. Susannah Bartlow was a shock and a disappointment. My time at Marquette was greatly shaped by the presence of the GSRC and the work of staff such as Dr. Barlow, and this loss is at the detriment of current students, future students, and the Marquette community as a whole.

Dr. Bartlow's work for the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center has been at the forefront of diversity programming in the city of Milwaukee, providing spaces for dialogue that help students and community members create a more inclusive future.

You guys are all screwed up in your thinking. She ia a "MURDER" and should never be recognized for anything. She needs to be sent back to the USA and serve out her term in prison.

How is it that alleged educators want to spend all their time supporting murderers and terrorists!!
