Petition to Update the Fish Counts of the Naugatuck Rivers Fish Ladders
For our Civic Action Project, we are trying to get the DEEP (Department of Energy and Environmental Protection) of Connecticut to improve Seymour’s fish ladders, Tingue and Kinneytown, which are both on the Naugatuck River. In order to help fish migrate upstream and downstream of the Naugatuck River, we need an updated fish count in the areas of the fish ladders before the spring of 2018 fishing season is upon us. This can help us by showing what species of fish that are and are not using the fish ladders effectively. Obviously this is a very difficult task, so we would like to collect signatures to show the DEEP of CT that all dammed communities along the Naugatuck River show support of our cause. With your signature, you could help change the way we could help the Naugatuck River be restored back into a biodiverse fresh water system.
