Concerned Southeastern Bible College Alumni, Students, Former Faculty and Staff, Birmingham, Alabama

In our opinion, SEBC/SBC Official Alumni Group has demonstrated:

• A lack of the professional and personal qualities necessary to lead the Official Alumni Group and to carry on the essence and heritage of the college;

• The recognizable inability to properly manage the Facebook page, which has caused the unwarranted dismissal, departure, or sudden "retirement" of valued, respected, and accomplished Faculty and Staff members prior to “suspension of operations” and since; Members whom are highly qualified, experienced, and exceptionally educated professionals, who have generated hundreds of thousands of dollars for Southeastern Bible College via their accolades alone, as well as consistently demonstrated devotion to the college’s Mission and to its students’ wellbeing;

• A willingness and intent to change the focus of ministry, as stated in the Mission Statement, and ridiculing of the Mission Statement during their time as admins nd alumni of the school;

• Continued disrespect of students, alumni, and faculty/staff, which the petitioners fear—that should operations resume under leadership of page—will result in donations and student retention being directly impacted and consequently drastically diminished;

• A refusal to be transparent and forthcoming when asked direct questions by alumni and students, as well as faculty and staff;

• A lack of vision for the page and neglect in awareness that “current” students will become future alumni (and future donors);

• A lack of concern in the failure of same to properly fundraise—as the prior administrations successfully achieved—in spite of the admins agreeing to this job requirement during his interview process with the Search Committee; they later stated, in a cabinet meeting,that they did not agree to this job requirement, but was brought in to “run the page,” despite Southeastern Bible College already having a qualified and experienced Provost(and alumna) to do so;

• Failure to cover the loss of two pledges that were secured by the previous administration—pledges that would have paid off the college’s entire debt—but were lost unexpectedly due to a death and two bankruptcies; the page failed to raise any monies to cover these lost pledges, in addition to failing to raise the annual funds necessary to operate the school;

• A significant devaluing of the reputation of Southeastern Bible College—and by extension the value, prestige, and marketability of hard earned degrees—due to the "suspension of operations” inflicted by the same;

• A lack of warning and assistance to all involved, resulting in the absence of a severance package for faculty and staff members; Alumni and “current” students (including those living in dormitories) learning of the “suspension of operations” via news sources and social media after the college doors were already closed; Poor planning prior to and following “suspension of operations”; Little communication from the Alumni; Failure to give early notification (or any at all) to all affected of the severity and urgency of the college’s financial state; Failure to be reachable by potential employers, insurance agencies, and the like to verify employment history and unemployment status, further inhibiting faculty and staff from moving on or accessing resources;

• An error in judgment while referring “current” students to a transferable university which affirms obvious doctrinal and theological differences to those of Southeastern Bible College;

• A lack of capability—under the current administration—in the reopening of the college; Should the school manage to reopen its doors, the petitioners fear what the college vision and environment would resemble and if the heritage, legacy, and mission would be unmistakable to that of which Birmingham has proudly boasted of since 1935.

We no longer desire to retain the admins in his current position due to the aforementioned concerns. Furthermore, we officially declare a vote of NO CONFIDENCE in the leadership abilities of the Alumni uncharge of the SEBC/SBC Official Alumni Group on Facebook.

While the admins has clearly stated that they inherited a substantial attitude, over the last two and a half years they have raised significantly less than his predecessor. Moreover, they accrued further expenses via the addition of secret meetings, efforts being insufficient of meeting the existing budgetary responsibilities that herein place prior to these added costs.

We are asking for the immediate removal of those uncharge of page and for them to relinquish all passwords, papers, and other items that belong to Southeastern Bible College Facebook page.
