We, as Gaston County residents, are concerned about the guidelines considered to be 'adequate' for Gaston County pets. We would like to work cooperatively with county officials to improve upon those guidelines and further improve the accessibility to spay/neuter, so that the unwanted cats and dogs don't end up living by these same guidelines. Let's bring spay/neuter to those communities which can best be served and enhance the local Vet Tech program in the process. Let us PARTNER with officials to move Gaston County pet conditions forward. "A carrier isn't a house. Ice isn't water."

We need a no kill shelter as well as mobile spray neuter services. There is entirely too much euthanasia taking place. There needs to be more help for the many defenseless and mistreated animals.
I so agree, Jamie. Short of education, which takes longer than the animal can afford, intervention is the only way I know. Within the guidelines of the current laws, that's very hard. Therefore, my hope is that we can get enough support on this petition to present it at a county board meeting to discuss viable compromises. Again, thanks so much for your support, Jamie.
I agree, Angela. I've learned that the Vet Techs can't 'alter' pets, but somehow they could be involved in scheduling, anesthesia, recovery.....I'm just putting it out there, but anyway, thank you SOOO much for the support. Bless!
The Vet Tech program is already a good program. Let's make it even better and use it to help our community.
