BringFibiHome
We are seeking the return of our family dog of 11 years, Fibi who was rehomed by Ashton Dog pound even though we had made contact with the pound looking for her. Fibi, went missing from her home on the 6th August. When Fibi did not show up after searching everywhere for her in the local and surrounding areas we started to fear the worse. Then, by chance a lady from the area who had seen our “Missing Dog” posters contacted us to say she had found Fibi and handed her into the Ashton Dog pound on 6th August. We were shocked to learn this as we had contacted Ashton Dog pound the week before with Fibi’s desrciption, a female crossbreed Jack Russell terrier but they never returned our call to say she was at their pound. When we dropped into Ashton Dog pound to get Fibi from them they initially denied receiving a dog fitting Fibi’s description in the two weeks she had been missing but they did confirm that they received our voice message about our lost dog and had it recorded in their log book on 12th August. Following the pound’s advice to check their facebook page, we saw photos of Fibi at the pound on Sunday 11th August, the day before we had first contacted the pound looking for her. This meant she had been there and no one contacted the family to come get her. The pound were then forced to admit Fibi had been there and told us that she was rehomed. We were devastated to hear this and very angry to learn that our dog had been at this pound for 5 days following our initial call to them before she was re homed. Following a number of complaints about this to the management of Ashton Dog pound their reply in writing was that we were not contacted because we had given the wrong description of our dog to them when we reported her missing which is completely untrue. We had told them she was a female crossbreed jack russell terrier however we noted from their written response they had recorded her as being just a black/tan terrier. Because of this oversight made by Ashton Dog pound due to their inability to tell the difference between breeds of dogs that they are taking in has meant our family, including our two and four year old grandsons, have been without our beloved family dog Fibi for the last 8 weeks and we really want her back with us as soon as possible. Fibi is a loving, friendly family dog and she was well known and loved in our local area.
