Proposition for less than lethal mandate

Due to the nationwide protests, accumulating damage and most importantly, the murder of an innocent man by police.. We see Riots are erupting in major cities. So how can we solve this issue by Having everyone come to an agreement. As a child, I was always taught, “there’s a bad egg in every basket”. Which I have found all to be true in my personal experience with officers. However, I will say that many of them are good people, those I want to thank for your noble service. However, many show a complete disregard for human life, especially after the recent recorded killing and widespread brutality, I hope the majority can easily agree on that. But these are our peacekeepers, employed for us, by us. So We the citizens are in control, but only if we stand together and voice the issue. So we the majority should dictate policy via legislature by vote. Thus this petition. Now we could implement more psychological testing on officers and firearms training, all good ideas, however I believe the problem is much simpler than that, less than lethal force. It is rarely ever required to shoot someone Dead, even for police officers, but the police draw their weapons so easily now because it’s easy, effective and acceptable. I’ve had a loaded gun pointed at me after dropping my ID. It’s very scary and I’m white. So this is not an isolated incident. That same officer has a dozen complaints on file.

I also want to point out that during the protests turned riots, they did a great job, using less than lethal force. (Except for kicking a girl in the head) So why don’t they do that all the time? If it’s effective and safer for us? It’s an option! To use “rubber” or “soft” bullets in their everyday carry. Now Lethal mags/cartridges would require a sergeant approval via radio “for extreme instances”, unless returning live fire or there is an active gunman. That way they can’t complain that we are removing their weapons. We’re alteting force so they can’t kill us. It’s fair Its a fair solution for both sides, more importantly it will save lives, that’s a fact.
I know it’s a big change, but that is what is needed to end this situation. A new start. Otherwise the kettle will boil every time someone publicly dies at the hands of police. So you can charge the officer, all of them, fund more training, but at the end of the day, little difference will come. Unless we disarm officers or at least control what they shoot at us. I would like to have a say in that if possible, I hope you do also. The “leads” gotta go! So sign this petition and more importantly be sure to share it, if you really want to change our country. This is how you make a difference. This is how you take a step to rebuild trust and descalate the tension.

I will deliver this to governor wolf once it reaches a million signatures.
