Police Brutality Boundaries
To the U.S Government. Police Brutality is the intentional use of excessive force, usually physical but also in the form of verbal attacks and psychological intimidation, by a police officer. Police Brutality is one of several forms of police misconduct, which includes false arrest, intimidation, racial profiling, political repression, surveillance abuse, sexual abuse, and police corruption. Police officers are legally permitted to use force and their superiors expect them to do so when appropriate. We, the citizens of California stress the need for oversight by independent citizen review boards and other methods of ensuring accountability for police action. In order to ensure a healthy community it is essential to have a police review board composed of citizens that can actually do something when the police abuse power.
