I am a 24 year old woman.I am one of many who was brought to the United States illegaly. I was only 8 months old in the year 1983.I was brought here by my mother on bus, airplane and by crossing the border.I have now been here in the United States for almost 25 years. I am still not legalized. My father passed away from a heart attack when I was only 14 years old.My father was a resident. as I grew older I wanted to buy a car, have an Identification Card, vote, go to College, even buy a home. Because my father didn\'t file a petition for me before he passed away I am not able to do any of these things. It is not possible for me to legalize through an immediate family unless I go back to Mexico for 10 years .I want to continue my education here and go to college and one day to a University.I graduated high school with a 3.5 GPA. I would of wanted a scholarship or even affordable financial aid.I want the American dream. I have been here in the United States so long illegally hoping one day I will be legalized. By helping me sign this petition you will help me and millions of other people make their dream of becoming legal sooner or even possible. If we all get together and sign this petition I might be able to become legalized sooner. Please help me by signing this petition.I know you know how it feels to wait for your dreams to one day come true.If you believe that we need to stand for what is right and speak up,please help us make our dreams come true.I want to be able to succeed financially and academically. Please take the time to sign. Thanks for your help, support and understanding.

November 30, 2007

The weight of this process wears on me some days but I keep reading your messages. Knowing I am not the only one trapped in this limbo keeps me going even when things feel impossible. We continue to wait for a sign that anyone in power is actually listening.

Seeing this grow makes the weight of the last twenty-five years feel a little lighter. I am tired of waiting but knowing there are so many people behind me gives me the strength to keep pushing forward.

This hit home. I know people in the same spot and it makes no sense to punish someone who didnt even have a choice in coming here as a baby!

Keep your head up. Our system is completely broken when people who grew up here get left behind like this. Hoping for some good news soon.

This is so unfair. Youve been here your whole life and worked hard in school, you deserve a chance to succeed just like everyone else.
