The Glendale Drive-In, Rt.2 Glendale, WV, opened it's gates on Memorial Day Weekend, May 29th, 1949. So many families have spent their weekends there in the summer, and have loads of stories to share. From the excitement of a newly released movie, to the familiar dancing refreshments at intermission, the drive in provides fun, familiarity, and a family-friendly atomosphere. There are very few places like this left. With so many changes going on in the world, it is vital to maintain some of our past. Sharing things you experienced as a kid, with your own children is such an amazing feeling. Let's keep that feeling alive and save the Glen Dale Drive In. Allowing a temporary parking lot to ruin decades of memories is outrageous! Let's fight for our drive in!
I have been reading your stories about the drive-in all morning and honestly feel overwhelmed by the memories you all have shared. This path forward belongs to everyone who refuses to let these lights go out just yet.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the momentum behind this because I never imagined so many people held the drive in as close to their hearts as I do. Seeing how much you all care about protecting these memories is moving in a way I cannot quite put into words. This is happening because of you and your dedication to the history we share.

Spent every summer weekend here as a teen. It would be a huge loss for WV to lose a staple like this.

Total shame if they close it. Nothing beats watching a movie outside in the summer with the whole family. STOP THE PARKING LOT IDEA.

Keep the drive in open. That place is a landmark and needs to stay as it is.

Ridiculous. We have enough parking around here already. Save our history.
