President Obama's violation of US Code Title 4, Chapter 1
Barack Obama's "Our Stripes: Flag Print" (https://store.barackobama.com/obama-2012-store-collections/artists-for-obama/our-stripes-flag-print.html) is a blatant violation of US Code, Title 4, Chapter 1, Paragraph 3. This code states that the flag of the United States of America, a picture of the flag, or a representation of the flag, whereby which the average person seeing the same without deliberation may believe the same to represent the flag, colors, standard, or ensign of the United States of America, shall not have placed upon it any word, figure, mark, picture, design, drawing, or any advertisement of any nature. Further, the same paragraph states that no one shall manufacture, sell, expose for sale, or to public view, or give away or have in possession for sale, or to be given away or for use for any purpose, any article or substance being an article of merchandise... upon which shall have been printed, painted, attached, or otherwise placed a representation of any such flag, standard, colors, or ensign. The fact that the revenue from the product is helping to finance his re-election campaign only adds insult to injury. The goal of this petition is to, in the least, request recognition and apology by the President for his violation of the code and removal of the item from his campaign merchandise. Legal action is certainly not out of the question and dependent on the the signatures received and the action or lack thereof from the President.
