Project Free Shelby
In August of 2011, Shelby Arabie went before the Pardon Board for the state of Louisiana. He received a unanimous vote for a commutation of his life sentence to 45 years with parole eligibility after serving 1/3 and credit for good time. This recommendation would make Shelby eligible for immediate release. Shelby has served nearly 30 years in the Louisiana State Prison in Angola. He has received the support and recommendation of release from his victims daughter & sisters, Warden Burl Cain, the trial Judge LJ Hymel, many state and federal officials, Pastors, Sheriff's, Businesses and more!
Shelby has been a model prisoner, has helped others to better themselves. He has achieved and excelled in being a productive reformed man within the walls and Shelby will be a productive citizen when allowed to return to a free society. Please sign the petition requesting Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal sign the 2011 Governor appointed Pardon Board recommendation to reduce his life sentence therefore making him eligible for immediate release. If you would like to know more about Shelby Arabie's story please go to www.freeshelby.com. This petition has been created by Family, Friends and Supporters that believe Shelby has paid his debt to society, has been reformed, has made amends and will be a productive citizen in a free society.
