The state attorney finally agreed to establish the animal abuse registry. My hands are shaking as I type this because it was such a long fight. Keep your eyes on the local offices to make sure they actually follow through with the registration process.
We are requesting your State Attorney establish a registry of animal abuse offenders. Animal abusers, those convicted of cruelty to animals or engaged in dog fighting, would be required to register with the local police who, in turn, would notify local schools, animal shelters and rescues and other businesses within 5 miles of the offender's residence. The abuser would be barred from working with or around or from owning another animal. Your state Attorney General would maintain registration information that would be accessible to the public. If at any time you feel there are sufficient signatures we ask you print the petition and forward it to your Attorney General.
Reaching this level of support feels heavy because it reminds me how many people have witnessed the same cruelty I have. My resolve is flickering at times but seeing this momentum keeps me moving toward our goal of protecting vulnerable animals.

Please help these animals that are being tortured, abused and in many instances RAPED. People doing that should not be able to get another pet. Please help.

I am currently dealing with the grief of losing my pet. It was just her time to go to the rainbow bridge to wait for me. I'm signing this petition because loosing my dear furry friend has hurt me a lot worse than loosing some of the people I have known and lost. So for someone to get off free for hurting an animal or even having a second chance to own another of our loving animals is ungodly n cruel. They sure have to pay for what they do. The animals I have owned are like my children and the offenders should be charged as though our pets are children. They never deserve a second chance at owning another loving furry bundle of joy. The animal they neglected didn't get a sec chance.

We need to do a better job making sure animals abusers are punished. An animal abuser registry is a good start.

Sickens me to the core about people's behaviors towards defenseless animals. Why wouldn't they do the harmful acts towards a family member? Get better laws!!!
