This petition is to be sent to the Smithtown School Board to show support for the West and East Smithtown Boys Lacrosse caoches for both Varsity School Programs. As a community, the parents, players nor the coaches were made aware that the coaches were not going to be reinstated at the last board meeting. With only a week before the Spring season beginning, we request an emergency board meeting to reinstate the coaches so that it will not disruptor delay the beginning of their season. These student athletes have been preparing to play in one of the toughest divisions in the country and it is not fair to any of them to wait until the next scheduled board meeting for them to find out the School Board'sdecision. If thedecision is delayeduntil the next scheduled board meeting, the players will not have enough practices to participate in their first scheduled scrimmages and will beten days behind all the otherteams in their division.

We, the Smithtown Lacrosse Community, support Coach Molitsanti and Coach Lambert and want them reinstated at each respective High School as the Varsity Head Lacrosse Coaches. In 2014 Coach Moltisanti received the Suffolk County Coach of the Year Award while Coach Lambert was awarded the Long Island Coach of the Year by Newsday. These two coaches have been extremely integral in our children'ssuccess on and off the field. They spend numerous personal hours beyond coaching to aid in the college recruiting process making Smithtown the teams to follow during both the Spring season and the Summer recruiting season.Alumni and currentplayers have experienced the benefits of many highly touted collegesthatseek out Smithtown games to watch them play because of the level of competiton and talent in just one community. These coaches have continued the Smithtownlacrosse tradition and continue to help these programs to stay NationallyRanked, which is a rarity for a public school.
