Removal of DRE Voting Equipment from Use in Chatham County, NC Whereas, we are all weary of the mistrust and bad feelings that exist in the county since the Chatham County Board of Elections approved the use of the DRE voting machine; Whereas, the mistrust will continue as long as the citizens of Chatham County feel their vote is in danger of being lost, not counted, or improperly counted; Whereas, the mistrust has affected the perception of every subsequent action, however innocent, taken by the Board; Whereas, the mistrust has led to some citizens filing suit against the county; Whereas the mistrust has led to questioning of the Board of Election
