Replace Current Administration in KIBSD Central Office
After great consideration, and speaking with our Commissioner of Education, I have been witness to, and dealt with, the final straw. I feel as though there are many others who will agree with me, or feel similarly, that our district is in dire need of a change in administration.
Mr. McDonald has hidden behind others when decisions within the district are being made so as to pass the negative backlash of decision making on to someone else. He has done this in the last few months by publicly stating the decisions being made are not coming from him and are strictly that of the administration under each schools roof, and only brings this to light when parents and faculty voice they are unhappy - ie. the Northstar Elementary incident.
Does the Superintendent not take responsibility for his district in its entirety? Should he/she not back up their employees decisions as long as it is in the best interest of the students/educators, no matter the circumstance?
Mr. McDonald has proven to be unable to handle various situations in an unbiased, neutral state with a level head in a confidential manner.
Our students and faculty deserve to have a superintendent who looks out for their best interests ALWAYS and not when it is convenient for him/her.
Our teachers are some of the best in the state and they should be encouraged and lifted up by their superiors. With talking to many of our educators, it seems as though recently this is not the case, and we are losing great teacher's at a quick and steady rate, this treatment possibly being a factor.
Ms. Davidson was witnessed in public sharing confidential information about various situations that occurred in the school district during the 2014-2015 school year. When confronted about this situation, all she could say was "I am sorry", proving she has acknowledged the confidential information shared. If these situations involved YOUR child/children, would you want someone sharing these situations as points of interest to discuss over dinner? How would you feel if it was your student/family member being discussed, that someone else now has knowledge of?
I was under the impression the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent are held, and hold themselves, to a higher standard and refrain from gossiping about, and sharing, confidential information.
Our children, and the educators who are taking care of our children, deserve the proper support to make our district thrive. By signing this petition, we can work together to make a change.
What has been stated here is factual and I have been directly involved with all that was stated above.
