Thatch Winery and Wine Works Traffic safety issues from their visitors on our residential road
On a quaint country road in Albemarle county lives quite a few residence who are suffering from the traffic going to and from Thatch Winery and Wine Works. These visitors are a safety hazard for the residence here, who enjoy walking their dirt road to exercise and visit neighbors, riding bikes and golf carts to each other’s homes, walking babies and grand babies in strollers. There’s been many instances where residence have been almost hit by speeders, visitors blowing horns at golf carts because they were holding them up from speeding after drinking at the winery. We’ve asked the winery numerous times to address this issue. We the residence of Harris Creek Road and roads adjacent to Harris Creek Road request that the Winery utilize their alternate entrance that the ingress and egress is located off of Route 20 S. We also ask that if any tourist/visitors, contractors, and employees continue to use Harris Creek Road as an entrance that the winery put signage at the end of Harris Creek Road and state route 20 inform their visitors, contractors, and employees that the speed limit is no more than 25 mph that this is a residential area which is the state posted speed limit on Harris Creek Road and should be only 15 mph for safety reasons. Thank you for helping us get our road safe again.
