Rewarding the hard working.

The aim and principle of this petition is on the basis of hard work and subsequent reward for the student.

As we all know soirée is an annual event at St. Aloysius College. Dedication, time and money all go into the creation of such an event. We seek to reward all the students of the school due to the simple fact that were it not for the wholesome and family like atmosphere present in our community none of this would be possible.

Henceforth we are calling upon the administration as to pardon the entirety of the student body on the 1st of February. We believe that everyone is entitled to a well-deserved break after the tempest-full month of Soirée preparations. Not excluding the fact that due to the length of performances and strenous work which goes into the setting up of the show one might not find the perfect work-study-soiree balance henceforth leading to the need of a day to catch up on lost homework and so forth.

Updates

December 1, 2015

The response from the administration has been silence so far but we expected this wall. I am still pushing for a meeting to discuss why a break is necessary for our recovery. This fight is draining but we are not backing down until they acknowledge the toll these preparations take on us.

December 1, 2015

The scale of this response is overwhelming and honestly it feels like a heavy weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I am tired from these long weeks of preparation but seeing how many of you feel the same way keeps me moving forward. We have reached a point where the administration can no longer look away from what we need.

A definite must-do. Our talented students deserve a day off, after 4 consecutive days of performances. Having a day off will allow us to destress, and readjust back into our academic routines, and prepare for exams, without the risk of exhaustion, or far worse; the consequences of over-stress.

The amount of stress put on us lately is crazy. A day off would be a lifesaver for everyone to catch up on actual school work.

Honestly we are all exhausted from these rehearsals. Just give us the day off to sleep, we earned it.

I agree! Lots of work that clearly pays off goes into the soirée preparations.
