A proposal has been put forward to transform Richardson Reserve to a supermarket style shopping centre.

This open space and green area is critical to providing healthy habitat for humans, wildlife and plants in these densely built areas.

Richardson Reserve provides space for neighbourhood residents to interact with each other and meet new people. It is also a great space for events and for people to engage in recreational activities. This allows people to develop a sense of community.

Overall, Richardson Reserve provides many benefits such as:

- A play space for children

- Natural habitat for plants and animals

- Mental health boost

- Centre of community

- Recreation activities

- Physical activities

This proposed shopping centre is unnecessary; the nearest shopping centre from Richardson Reserve is a 1 minute drive away, followed by a 3 minute drive to the next nearest shopping centre, followed by a 5 minute drive from the next nearest shopping centre.

Join me to save Richardson Reserve; our Local TTG Councillor Paul Barbaro had tried to stop the proposal but was out voted - he will try again after the Community Consultation ends and the Report's findings are presented to council in late July.
