Petition to preserve Knanaya Endogamy!
To the Holy See;
I would like to request a commission to reverse the ordinance to assimilate non-endogamous people into our knanaya catholic community. We are a special interest faith group who maintains its own members via endogamous marriages since AD 345 and in 1911, we were given special knanaya catholic diocese in Kottayam with indiviidual jurisdiction by Pope Pious X.The ones that go out of the faith group are strictly outsiders who did not follow the rules of endogamy and are no longer part of our knanaya community, but can freely join our syromalabar counterpart:The syromalabar catholic community. We are a faithful community and would like to maintain its generational endogamy through endogamous blood lines. PLEASE RE-CONSIDER AND REVERSE YOUR decision to incorporate non-endogamous folks into our community as we are afraid it will lead to the destruction of our faith community. Please allow us to extend our boundaries from Kottayam diocese in India to the North American borders so that we can preserve our community in this faith community. Thank you, yours in Christ, people of knanaya catholic community.
