HELP US TO PROVIDE A FULL SIZE, ALL WEATHER PITCH FOR ROUNDWOOD PARK SCHOOL, HARPENDEN COLTS FC, AND THE HARPENDEN COMMUNITY.

St Albans district council will soon consider a revised planning application by Roundwood Park School for a full size, state of the art, artificial grass pitch. The artificial pitch will replace an existing grass pitch on the school site which becomes waterlogged and unusable for large periods of the winter. The school's original application was refused in June 2016 on one ground only - opening hours. The facility, which was originally due to close at 10pm, will now close at 9.30pm.

Under the original proposal, Colts would have had access to the pitch from 5.30pm to 9pm and the 9 to 10pm slot would have been a commercial hire. The club will now have exclusive access to the pitch from 5.30 to 9.30pm.

The club's current training facilities are expensive, geographically dispersed and vulnerable - as was demonstrated by the recent and sudden closure of the Venue 360 training facilities in Luton. The new 3G pitch would provide a long term, local, cost effective, secure, training facility for our Club, enabling it not just to sustain its current members' involvement in the sport but to expand the Club to meet the demands of Harpenden's rapidly growing youth population.
