We categorically and without reservation CONDEMN the decision by the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Inc. to allow the RUC/PSNI to take part, in any way, shape, or form in the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade. To allow the British occupational police force a position in our parade is to condone the current British occupation of Ireland. This is completely unacceptable. The NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Inc. is called upon to apologize for this grievous insult and to pledge never to allow such a thing again.

The emails I receive from those who feel betrayed by this decision are heavy to read. This fight is draining but ignoring the reality of what this parade has become is not an option for me.

My ancestors did not die, were made to suffer or imprisoned just so my family, my friends or I could someday be made to dance with the devil…
I wholeheartedly support this petition, it's been 16 years since the signing of the Good Friday Agreement and important provisions have not been implemented, allowing the offenders to march in the St. Patrick's Day Parade is a slap in the face of our ancestors
I thoroughly agree that with the hypocrisy and unintended shame of such an action. What where they thinking?
Nowhere in my family's history of dispossession and degradation in Ireland is there a mention of it being at the hands of gays. Those crimes belong to the RUC among other representatives of "The Crown." Yet gays are banned from the parade as their presence would somehow sully our Irish memories, but the RUC/PSNI is not only included, they are fawned over. What's next, a float with Good Queen Bess and Ollie Cromwell?
In support of the generations before us who where oppressed by the occupation they speak from the grave to Condemn your hasty and thoughtless decision.
I've just read through the comments criticising the parades decision. Every commentator is from the USA with no clue about Ireland except propaganda from republican bigots. Do us all a favour here and forget what you learned from propagandists. If you wish to fall for the MOPE nonsense you are uneducated fools! Most Oppressed Peoples Ever, known in Ireland as whining goats!
An absolute disgrace, I can't for the life of me understand, and no amount of explaining could justify the allowance of the Murderous RUC to march in the parade. Why they even agreed to march I think, was a way to stick it to Irish people, particularly republicans, one more time. Gerry Adams and the Provies do not speak for Irish America. The only ones who support the Provies now are corporate donors with deep pockets. Make no mistake about it, " beware of the thing that is coming, beware of the risen people." The Provies can call us dissidents all they want but at the end of the day, Pearse, Ceannt, MacDonagh and the rest were also called dissidents, an what better people to be lumped together with! Ireland unfree will NEVER be at peace! Up the IRA. The day will dawn when all the people have the desire for freedom to show, it is then we will see te rising of the moon,bobby sands. The PSNI in the parade was an outrage! Please do not ever allow them again, until Britain has relinquished her control of the northern 6 counties of Ireland
