Saint Leo University only has graduation ceremonies in the summer. Numerous students graduate at the end of fall semester. It is unfair for students to have to wait for their graduation ceremony. Also, having a ceremony in the winter would be helpful for students and staff.
- There are three graduation ceremonies in summer. Having a graduation ceremony in the fall would result in fewer students participating in summer ceremonies. Therefore, this would relieve the pressure put on the university and staff.
- Many students live out of state. It’s an extra expense for them to return to Florida.
- Students that are graduating early are being penalized not rewarded.
- Students are not able to celebrate their hard work and dedication in a timely manner.
I just found out that there is no winter graduation for St. Leo. I find this to be very odd since many students in my Masters program do not live in St. Leo, so they will have to make plans 5-6 months after they finish school just to come and do graduation.
